Community Service Builds Character

A few weeks ago I was contacted by a young man needing to complete 8 hours of community service for court. We talked about food insecurity and how some families struggle to purchase healthy food. This seemed to resonate with him and we agreed that he would do a food drive with his friends, family, neighbors and students at Prairie View A&M University.

I was thrilled that he exceeded the goal we set for his food drive. I was also honored that he wants to continue working with us as a volunteer to continue his service to the community.

You never know how small acts of service can blossom.
